Youth Ministry
Living The Word’s youth groups were designed to help young people grow in their faith and develop a deeper relationship with God. Our goal is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for young people to explore their faith, ask questions, and build relationships with other young people. Our Sunday youth classes gives our kids the opportunity to learn from the Bible in a way that is best suited for them, whether that is open discussion, quizzes, games, or trivia style activities. Through activities, youth classes, and small groups, we help young people develop a strong sense of purpose and identity in Christ. We want our youth to not just know the Bible and quote scripture, but to live out their faith by being doers of the word and not hearers only
Marriages Made in Heaven
exists to help build great marriages. We believe that one of the keys to well-adjusted children, career success and happiness in life is having a healthy marriage. We help build strong marriages through marriage seminars, marriage counseling, pre-marriage preparation classes and fellowship opportunities with other married couples..
Youth Harvest Mentoring Ministry
has been commissioned by God to focus on prevention, working with youth to keep them from falling through some of the pitfalls that await the children of the inner cities across America. It’s two primary phases are CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) of Oakland County and the SOAR DETROIT Youth Reading Program.
CASA volunteers are appointed by a jurist (judges or referees) to advocate for children’s best interests. They remain with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. We serve children from birth through the age of 21 years old.
Soar Detroit provides literacy tutoring and sports, to foster life-changing relationships and help kids flourish. Children enrolled in Soar receive one-on-one mentoring and an individualized learning plan prepared by a professional education specialist. Our long-term vision is to turn Detroit’s literacy rate upside down, promote healthy community in our city, and see kids come to know Jesus
My Brothers Keeper
In response to the challenges of the pandemic, when services were cancelled, My Brother’s Keeper was launched to make sure that members were connected and cared for. Weekly check-in phone calls, delivery of food to those in need, virtual and in-person game nights and quarterly inspirational cards were sent to members. The post-pandemic vision of My Brother’s Keeper is to ensure that members stay connected through fellowship and fun and includes game nights, member spotlight interviews and reaching out to members or regular guests we haven’t seen in a while
